Bank Secretary, General Counsel & Corporate Affairs
The Division comprises three core units: the Bank Secretariat, General Counsel, and Communications & Corporate Affairs. Together, they ensure strong corporate governance, legal integrity, and strategic institutional communication.
Bank Secretary’s Department
- Producing accurate, timely and reliable stakeholder reports
- Advising on laws and regulations governing the Bank and monitoring compliance
- Ensuring adherence to sound corporate governance principles
- Preparing Board meeting agendas and documentation
- Arranging Board and corporate meetings
- Preparing minutes and monitoring resolution implementation
- Coordinating between the Board and Executive Management
General Counsel
- Ensuring an enabling legal framework at all times
- Providing legal advice to all Bank Divisions and subsidiaries
- Verifying the credibility of security documents from stakeholders
Communications & Corporate Affairs
- Building and maintaining a strong corporate image
- Nurturing public confidence in Bank policies
- Ensuring events follow proper protocol
- Managing communications, media and public relations
