RBZ Bulawayo Regional Office, which has been, at its core, an integral part of Banking Operations and Currency Management Division, had its operations enhanced to better serve the financial sector and the nation from a regional perspective. The Regional Office’s core deliverables are as follows: -

Improved Price, Currency and Exchange Rate Stability - optimal currency or liquidity issuance and distribution in the Southern Region (covering Matabeleland North and South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, part of the Midlands and Masvingo Provinces) by ensuring adequate cash supply and integrity, through receiving cash from Bank Branches with surplus and paying those with low deposits;

Enhances financial sector stability - effective banking services delivery, oversight of financial institutions in the Region and maintaining robust internal controls;

Improved governance and administration - effective oversight of resident Departments, adherence to policies and procedures, cost containment, and harmonious industrial relations;

Enhanced corporate image and stakeholder engagement - effective ambassadorial role, maintaining the Bank’s image and managing key stakeholder relationships in the Region.

RBZ Bulawayo Regional Office executes its mandate through eleven Divisions, namely, Banking Operations and Currency Management; Finance and Stores Management; Assets, Facilities and Projects; Group Security and Loss Control; Financial Surveillance; National Payments Systems; Human Resources; Information Technology and FinTech; Corporate Affairs - Public Relations and Library; and Procurement Management Unit. RBZ Bulawayo Regional Office is headed by a General Manager whose responsibility is the general management of the entire operations of the Regional Office while performing ambassadorial functions of the Bank in the Southern Region. The General Manager’s role interfaces strongly with other Head Office Divisions to ensure expert input but maintaining operational independence. The enhanced structure of RBZ Bulawayo Regional Office has streamlined decision-making, improved co-ordination and ensured more responsive and efficient service delivery from the Regional Office.
